To qualify, you must demonstrate that you are willing to assist in the investigation and you must be willing to assist with prosecution.\n\nThis type of visa is valid for a total of four years, and you can apply for permanent residency after three years.\n\nHere are some of the cases in which you would be eligible for this type of visa:\n<ul>\n \t<li>Is a victim of a qualifying crime<\/li>\n \t<li>Has suffered substantial mental or physical abuse<\/li>\n \t<li>Has information about criminal activity<\/li>\n \t<li>Willing to help law enforcement<\/li>\n \t<li>The crime occurred in the U.S.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\nIf you need help understanding your eligibility, our team is available and we encourage you to reach out.\n<h1>T Visa Petitions<\/h1>\nT visa applications are suitable for people who have been victims of human trafficking, either for work or sexual purposes.\n\nYou could be eligible for this type of visa if you are a victim of trafficking and, as a result, are currently in the U.S. You must also show that you would experience hardship or harm if you were removed from the U.S.\n\nIf you&#8217;re not sure if you&#8217;re eligible for the T Visa, here are some requirements:\n<ul>\n \t<li>You must prove that you have been trafficked<\/li>\n \t<li>You must have been trafficked to the U.S. and currently reside in the U.S.<\/li>\n \t<li>You have to show that you are willing to cooperate with the investigation<\/li>\n \t<li>You must show that leaving the U.S. would cause you extreme hardship<\/li>\n<\/ul>\nYou may not have to participate in the investigation if you are under the age of 18.\n<h1>Petitions of the Law on Violence against Women<\/h1>\nVAWA is for survivors of domestic violence or abuse. This includes everyone from spouses to parents and children of U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents. It gives you access to benefits in the U.S. without the requirement of being a U.S. citizen or the consent of the abuser. Abuse can take many forms, from sexual to emotional, physical, and verbal.\n\nIf you want to apply for this visa, you need to make sure your relationship qualifies. This can be done if:\n<ul>\n \t<li>You are married to an abusive U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident<\/li>\n \t<li>Your marriage legally ended by death or divorce within two years prior to filing the petition.<\/li>\n \t<li>Your spouse renounced or lost citizenship up to two years before your petition due to domestic violence<\/li>\n \t<li>You thought you were married, but the marriage is no longer legitimate because of a previous marriage that hasn&#8217;t ended.<\/li>\n \t<li>You are the child of an abusive U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident of the U.S.<\/li>\n \t<li>You are the parent of an abusive son or daughter who is over the age of 21 and a U.S. citizen.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\nIf you are trying to make a self-petition because you believe you are the spouse of an abusive U.S. citizen, then you must show that you married in good faith and not just to evade immigration laws.\n\nIf you live outside the U.S. when the petition was filed, you must demonstrate the following, in addition to the points listed above:\n<ul>\n \t<li>The abusive citizen is a U.S. government employee.<\/li>\n \t<li>The abusive citizen is a member of the U.S. Armed Forces.<\/li>\n \t<li>Was subjected to cruelty or assault in the U.S.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1>We&#8217;re here to help!<\/h1>\nAt Eagan Immigration, we know how difficult it is to navigate the complex immigration laws of the United States.
