Here&#8217;s everything you need to know about the\u00a0<strong>travel of beneficiaries and asylum seekers<\/strong>.\n<h2>Travel for asylum seekers<\/h2>\nAccording to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), asylum recipients are subject to special rules in order to travel outside the U.S. Anyone wishing to leave the country must obtain prior permission through the\u00a0<strong>Refugee Travel Document<\/strong>.\n\nThe RTD can be used to\u00a0<strong>travel temporarily abroad<\/strong>, in addition, you will need it to\u00a0<strong>be readmitted to the United States<\/strong>\u00a0as an asylee.\n\nIf you do not obtain your RTD in advance before your departure,\u00a0<strong>you may not be able to re-enter the United States<\/strong>. On the other hand, removal proceedings may also be initiated in immigration court.\n\nTo apply for an RTD, an asylee or asylum seeker will need to file a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.uscis.gov\/es\/i-131\">Form I-131, Application for Travel Document,<\/a>\u00a0with the required fee or a fee waiver application under 8 CFR \u00a7 103.7(c) to:\n\nNebraska Service Center\nP.O. Box 87131\nLincoln, NE 68501-7131\n<h2>What about benefit applicants?<\/h2>\nAccording to USCIS, if an asylum seeker has not yet received a decision, he or she should not leave the U.S. without first obtaining an advance of entry.\n\nAdvanced parole, which is requested using\u00a0<strong>Form I-131, allows certain aliens to return to the country without a visa<\/strong>.\n\nIf you leave the country without having applied for this permit, it will cause the authorities to consider your application as abandoned.\n\nOn the other hand,\u00a0<strong>advanced parole\u00a0<\/strong>does not guarantee that you will be automatically allowed to re-enter the United States.
