Although these steps are time consuming and detail oriented, it\u2019s necessary to partake in these processes to ensure your PERM labor certification gets approved.\n

Identify the Open Position<\/strong><\/h3>\nThe first step in the PERM labor certification process requires you to determine that there is an open, permanent, and full-time position at your company. The details of this position will be important throughout the entire PERM process, so it\u2019s a good idea to establish the job title, job responsibilities, and education and experience requirements.\n

Prevailing Wage<\/strong> Determination<\/strong><\/h3>\nOnce your business has identified a permanent, full-time job position that could be filled by a candidate from overseas, the first step of filing the PERM labor certification is determining the prevailing wage<\/strong>, or the average hourly pay for U.S. citizen workers in a specific job and location. This ensures the wages of U.S. workers will not decrease if foreign nationals are hired for a similar job in their area. Determining the prevailing wage also gives you a look at the minimum of what you must pay the foreign national candidate.\n\nTo obtain the prevailing wage, you must submit the Form ETA-9141,<\/strong> or the Application for Prevailing Wage, <\/strong>to the National Prevailing Wage Center.<\/strong> This form requires you to provide information about the job offer, job description, and job requirements, as well as the job's location.
