DACA recipients will be able to enroll in Obamacare

If you were waiting for a sign to renew your DACA, this is your chance. Although wait times are too long, it is better to start sooner than later, because starting November 1st, all DACA beneficiaries will be eligible to enroll in health insurance through the health insurance marketplace, known as Obamacare.

What does this mean?

That more than 100,000 DACA recipients will be able to access slightly more affordable healthcare. Although this is a huge victory for Dreamers, we must remember that the DACA program is still in danger while it remains pending in court with Republican politicians. If they decide to end the program, hundreds of thousands of people will be left in an immigration limbo, will not be able to work legally, and will have to live in fear of being detained, and even of being deported. Do not lose hope and keep fighting for your rights, especially in this election year.
