Since February 19, they began accepting asylum and protection applicants at some border points through the Remain in Mexico program.

Everything starts at the entry ports. Since last February 19, they began to accept the cases of these migrants at border ports. They started in San Ysidro California, followed by Brownsville.

The last to open was the one in Paso, Texas, which receives those who are in Ciudad Juárez. This is where a processing center was installed. The United Nations refugee agency (UNHCR) and the international organization for migration IOM and UNICEF supported this action.

What happens after the case is processed?
